Margaret's Educational BackgroundA 2020 magna cum laude graduate who earned membership in Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society, holds a bachelor’s degree in English/creative writing with a minor in psychology from Fairfield University. She was the 2019 recipient of Fairfield University’s Mariann S. Regan Award for Outstanding Achievement in English and Creative Nonfiction Essay Award. In 2022, she was the College of Arts and Sciences recipient of the Fairfield University Graduate Student Service Award. Maintaining straight A’s throughout her pursuit of an MFA, Margaret is a summer 2022 graduate of Fairfield University’s Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing Program with a degree in creative nonfiction and poetry.

Press and Publication HistoryMargaret has been featured on NBC Connecticut and WFSB News and delivers presentations at national and international writing conferences. A featured book on the AWP Bookshelf, Bold, Brave, and Breathless is her debut book. Margaret’s writing has appeared in Brevity’s Nonfiction Blog, Kairos: A Journal of Rhetoric, Technology, Pedagogy, Independent Catholic News, Positive Writer, Two Drops of Ink: A Literary Blog, and How We Are among other publications.

CareerMargaret works as a book editor and the marketing coordinator at Woodhall Press and as an ambassador for her communication device manufacturer, PRC-Saltillo. She also does freelance writing and book consulting for emerging writers, and she delivers keynotes and presentations about creative writing, disability access, accommodation, assistive technology, and inclusion at international and national writing conferences as well as at schools and universities. Community ServiceAs her Girl Scout Gold Award project, Margaret founded The Yes You Can Movement, a presentation series and Facebook blog in which she shares her experiences as a disabled individual, motivational speaker, career woman, and para athlete. In college, she founded and ran Fairfield University Project Yes You Can, a service club striving to help individuals with and without medical and impoverished conditions to have a positive outlook and to overcome obstacles to reach their ambitions. Named Fairfield University Student Association's 2017-2018 Club of the Year, among the club's accomplishments are serving at homeless shelters, volunteering at local schools in underprivileged communities and at convalescent homes, donating handmade fleece blankets and scarves to schools, hospitals, and individuals with special needs across New England, and organizing 5Ks for stomach cancer which benefitted Smilow Cancer Hospital and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In 2022, Margaret founded Positivity For Patients: The Art of Yes You Can, a community service initiative to donate displays of art and writing centered on themes of positivity and motivation to hospitals in the hopes of brightening patients' spirits especially during long stays and pandemic restrictions.

AthleticsUsing a Rifton Pacer gait trainer with a utility base and all-terrain wheels, Margaret runs competitively. Named Achilles International - Connecticut's 2023 Athlete of the Year, she is a runner on Team Achilles CT and a three-time relay champion paratriathlete on Gaylord Sports Association’s ParaTriathlon team. She was selected to be a featured athlete and member of the 2024 Inspiration Team for the Charity 5K at the Eversource Hartford Marathon.
